Out of curiosity, I ordered a 915mhz WS-1200 console from Ambient, on sale for $99. Confirmed that it works great for second display of the 1001, in another part of the house. I had to calibrate it to the readings of the main console. It logs and displays everything as the Wifi console. I'm happy with it. Especially since hurricane season is upon us again. Not sure if this can be done with the clones but importantly make sure you're matching the frequency.
